Sponsored by the Humanitarian Nineveh Relief Organization (H.N.R.O), Al-Hamdaniya Directorate of Education held the grand annual sports festival for Alhamdaniya District Schools in Apr. 16, 2019 in Amu-Baba Stadium in Qaraqosh - Nineveh.
In its 2nd edition after the victory over ISIS, the festival began with a parade of the participating schools, followed by a welcoming speech by the head of Al-Hamdaniya Directorate of Education. As well as remarks by the General Director of the Nineveh Education.
The festival included different activities and competitions such as parading, track and field, gymnasium shows, etc. The participating schools came from different areas of Alhamdaniya District, with students and staff from different ethnic and religious backgrounds.
The festival was attended by the Commander of Nineveh Operations Maj. Gen. Najem Al-Jubouri, Mr. Amin Ibrahim Al-Fanash - Assistant Governor of Nineveh for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Wahid Farid Abdul Qader - Director General of Ninawa Education, Directors of Education Departments, Iraqi officials, Notables, Clergymen, and a large audience.

A legal awareness seminar held by H.N.R.O’s Legal Clinic Project
HNRO’s Legal Clinic Project launched its legal awareness program through holding the first seminar on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019. The seminar, entitled “Documenting violations and its importance in ensuring rights”, was held in St. Paul's Center for Church services in Qaraqosh (Baghdeda). The seminar was presented by the rights activist, Mr. Youhanna Yousef Toma, and addressed several topics such as: (Documentation, monitoring, fact-finding, documentation objectives, credibility and accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, international human rights law, genocide, and other.)
The lecture was attended by several public figures, officials, members of civil society organizations, activists, and clergymen.
Through the (Iraq Community Resilience initiative, #ICRI) funded by the #USAID, and in coordination with Al-Hamdanyia and Bartella Municipality Directorates,
H.N.R.O held the Final Ceremony of the Project “Supporting Basic Services through Waste Collection in Al-Hamdaniya District”. The Event was held on Saturday, 15 Dec. 2018 in Bartella.
Many guests attended the event including municipalities, district council members, religious leaders, and members of the community.
Through the (Iraq Community Resilience initiative) funded by the USAID, and in coordination with Al-Hamdanyia and Bartella Municipality Directorates,
H.N.R.O starts implementing Project “Supporting Basic Services through Waste Collection in Al-Hamdaniya District”.
The project comprised of distributing 350 metric waste containers on the city centers of the cities Qaraqosh, Bartella and Karmles in the Nineveh Plain.
The waste containers were distributed in specified locations, including main roads and residential neighborhoods in accordance with the plan governed by the Municipalities of the area.

HNRO’s Forth summer art class has started in July 02, 2018. The course focuses on teaching Basic painting principles for the primary level participants and refining their talents. The course is designated for children between 6 to 12 years old. We wish a prosperous art future for our beloved students full of creativity

This initiative came to resume this event that has been completely stopped during the 3-year displacement caused by ISIS occupation, to represent a great opportunity for students from different schools, areas, religions and ethnicities to meet, introduce, and compete in a civilized and peaceful way through sports.
HNRO is happy to share news of the graduation ceremony of the fifth women’s hair salon & beauty course. The course, which started at Sep. 11, 2017, were conducted by HNRO with the sponsorship of SHAI Fund.
The beneficiaries were from the forcibly displaced community. Their feedback was extremely positive and we look forward to continuing to offer such courses. We are extremely proud of their accomplishments and all of the skills they have learned.
We wish the participants the best of luck in the future and in pursuing this field of work. We would like to thank SHAI Fund again for sponsoring and enabling these courses.
HNRO continues providing English courses for the IDPs. The current course is for the intermediate level. This course is offered to the teaching staff of Al Bishara School in Ankawa. Best wishes to everyone in the class!

HNRO is glad to celebrate the graduation of its Second Music Course. The celebration took place on Thursday, Aug 17, 2017 in Ainkawa – Erbil. The Four-month long course has produced 97 successful participants from the IDPs to pass the first and second level on learning to play the music note on (Guitar, Violin, Oud and Organ), in addition to Vocals training and Music Note (Solfege) classes. The Project was conducted by HNRO with the sponsorship of SALT Foundation. We wish the graduates success and best of luck!
